Damascus is the capital of Syria. It is the country’s largest city. Its population is declining due to the battle for the city. Its area is 105 km². Damascus is a cultural center of the Levant and the Arab world. The city’s estimated population is 1,711,000. Syrian pound is used in Syria. It is considered to be the oldest and continually inhabiting city. 11,000 years back habitation evidence has been collected. Old city roads and streets are majestic to be seen. There are many police checkpoints in the city to maintain law and order. The City is in the state of war for almost a decade. Damascus is filled with little kids running through the streets. There are dozens of markets and food points. Damascaninans are lively and friendly people. Damascus has religious significance as well. Religious history speaks about Damascus. The Omayyad Mosque, Al Hamra Street, Al Azem Palace, Mount Qasioun, Al-Hamidiyah Souq, and Damascus National Museum… are the topmost tourist attractions. Usually, there is an insane human traffic jam in the markets. Damascus has a different charm in it. You can feel the history in the air of Damascus. As the peace prevail, Damascus will be a famous religious and historical tourist destination.
